The Chicago Dragons Rugby Football Club is the first rugby club in the Midwest established to invite members from traditionally under-represented groups, particularly gay men, to engage in the world's third most popular team sport.

Ben Cohen Practice

The Chicago Dragons, in partnership with the 2011 Gay Softball World Series, are excited to welcome Ben Cohen to the City of Chicago! On Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 5PM, Ben will lead the Dragons in a rugby practice at Cricket Hill, the official home of the Chicago Dragons. Ben will be on hand for an hour to guide the Dragons through drills and give pointers prior to his other engagements that evening. Practice will be open to current players and anyone interested in playing the sport of rugby. The Chicago Dragons are preparing for their Fall 2011 CARFU competitive season, which kicks off September 10th, 2011. Ben will follow up practice with a meet and greet and auction at Sidetrack Video Bar from 8-11PM. All proceeds of the auction go to the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation.

First Match of the Season!

Our first Match is away against the Peoria Piggies. Click here to see the pitch on Google maps. Take I-74 to the University Street exit. Take a left (heading south) and turn right on Main St. Go down Main Street to Farmington Rd. and take a right. Take Farmington Road through two stoplights, past Jimmy's to Swords Avenue. Take a left on Swords and the pitch is at the top of the hill on the left. We'll be heading down in a car pool leaving from Cricket Hill at 8:30 am Saturday!
